David P. Branfman

Mr. Branfman has been practicing law in San Diego County for over thirty years. Mr. Branfman's practice focuses on intellectual property and entertainment law, including trademarks, copyrights, e-commerce, trade secrets, computer law, licensing, motion pictures and music.

After a five-year association with the intellectual property law firm of Charmasson & Holz in San Diego, Mr. Branfman joined Gary Martin to form Martin & Branfman and in early 1994 formed Branfman & Associates to focus on intellectual property and entertainment matters. Branfman & Associates became Branfman Law Group, P.C. in 2008.

Mr. Branfman graduated Cum Laude from Alfred University in New York and received his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1978. He was Chairman of the Board of the San Diego Film Commission from 1998 - January 2000 and was a member of the Board of Directors from 1998 - 2007. He was Legal Chair of the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Television Academy for approximately two decades and is a member of the State Bar of California's Intellectual Property Section. He has lectured on entertainment, intellectual property and Internet Law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and on intellectual property and business law at Mira Costa College and The San Diego Career Center.

He has been named a SuperLawyer® in intellectual property for 2008 and 2009 and was named a Top Attorney in intellectual property by the San Diego Daily Transcript for 2007 and 2009.

Mark Reichenthal

Mark Reichenthal practices in the areas of intellectual property, licensing, new media, entertainment law, book publishing, and general business contracts.

Prior to joining Branfman Law Group, P.C., Mark was a Senior Counsel at Wiley Publishing, Inc., publisher of the wildly successful and famous "...For Dummies" series where Mark was responsible for managing the day-to-day legal affairs of the company including the negotiation of book contracts, supervising the enforcement of the “…For Dummies” trademark, and all company trademark and copyright licensing.

Mark earned his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1995 and a Master of Science Degree in Book and Magazine publishing at Pace University in 1992. After joining the Bar, he was the Contracts Manager for Vivendi Universal's software division. Mark was the Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Bar Association of North County San Diego and is currently a Member of the North County Lawyer Editorial Committee.  Mark is admitted to practice law in California.
April Jernigan

April Jernigan began working as the Office Manager for Branfman Law Group, P.C. in early 2007.  During her time with the firm, she has proven to be a valuable and trusted addition.

Prior to joining the Branfman Law Group, P.C., April gained much of her customer relations and professional experience while working in the field of collections for companies such as J.P. Morgan Chase and HSBC.  During her time with these companies, she became familiar with the nuances of the collection industry. She gained invaluable insight into maintaining client relationships, performing financial analysis, educating and informing debtors about their credit. She also learned how to identify and provide solutions for the various types of problems which arose in this niche market.

April then shifted her professional interests to the field of law.   She began her legal career by joining the Family Law Practice of Kirsten Andelman Hassoun as an Administrative/Legal Assistant. She leveraged much of her experience from collections to assist her in compassionately counseling clients about their legal options. April is currently attending college at California State University, San Marcos to acquire her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Theory/Radio Television and Film. After graduating, she plans on going to Law School. Once she completes her J.D. she would like to take over the Branfman Law Group, P.C. and eventually fire Dave and Mark.
